Iain James Stark was born in 1988 and grew up in a London satellite town. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music with Alison Kay and Huw Watkins and piano with Kathron Sturrock, graduating with hons. in 2011. His music has been performed by the Ossian Ensemble, the Goodman Quartet, Manus Noble, and the RCM symphony orchestra, and at venues including St. Mark’s Place and the National Portrait Gallery. He collaborated with renowned fashion photographer Daniel Sannwald and creative director Phillip Di Meo on the ‘Les Liquides Imaginaires’ project, which has been exhibited in Paris, New York and Tokyo; and has contributed music to the ‘Style Calendar 2012’. As a performer Iain regularly plays 20th century and contemporary classical music - along with his own compositions - as a guitarist, pianist or laptop wonk, at venues of varying prestige. He is based between Berlin and London*.
